Located in the center of the Cookshire-Eaton village, on the corner of Routes 108 and 253, the Maison de la Culture John Henry Pope is the former presbytery of the St. Peter's Anglican Church. In 2016, a family of Cookshire acquired the building and transformed it into a heritage and cultural site. Indeed, Cookshire is an important Anglo-Saxon heritage site on the Townships Trail and home to a former politician, John Henry Pope. In its first year of existence, the art gallery of the Maison de la Culture hosted artists such as Luc Pallagois, Sylvain Dodier, Robert Péloquin, Ann Bilodeau and YongSook Kim-Lambert, from August to November as well as a local craft show in December. For its second season, the art gallery will welcome professional artists from April to November and the Salon des Artisans in December, in addition to shows at the Parc des Braves.
