Le Château Witch Bay

411, chemin Remick, Fitch Bay, Quebec J1X 3W4 (Directions and nearest interest points)

Welcome to the Chateau Witch Bay Museum! We are often asked "What is a Chateau like this doing in the middle of nowhere?" In response: Few homesteads remain in what was once the booming town of Fitch-Bay, in the 18 and early 1900's. The Chateau was built in 1880 by Mr. Timothy Byron Rider who had been a prominent political figure and business man in Fitch-Bay. Mr. Timothy Byron Rider's role enhanced the overall prestige of the community. The Chateau had remained within the Rider family until the year 2000 when it was purchased by the present owner. Taking over 8 years to complete the Chateau has been restored to reflect the historical significance of the era. A 40 minute guided tour will transport you back in time to relive the history and mystery that lives within these walls. The tour will not only appeal to historians and antique enthusiasts but the curious as well because the Chateau is not without its resident entities.
