Mine Cristal

430, 11e Rang, Bonsecours, Quebec J0E 1H0 (Directions and nearest interest points)

A one-of-a-kind, Canadian geological gem, Mine Cristal was founded in 1989 by Gaudry and Pauline Normand as an active mine, interpretation centre and educational centre. Today the mission is the same: to share the natural beauty and exceptional properties of pure quartz crystals. Extracted by hand from a 300 million year old massive white quartz vein, these crystals are considered to be among the most beautiful in the world. Come discover a scenic and peaceful setting at 400 meters (1300 feet) altitude in the Appalachian Mountains. Participate in guided mine tours, concerts on crystal instruments and specialized workshops. Visit the store and it’s adjoining museum, and enjoy the picnic area.
