How would you like to head out with your family to the Musée de l’ingéniosité J. Armand Bombardier? During spring break, the museum is offering a number of hands-on activities that will put your family’s ingenuity and creativity to the test. Enjoy a stimulating experience while discovering the life story of the famous Québec inventor Joseph-Armand Bombardier!

Unlock the Doors to Creativity

In the Museum lobby, three new tinkering challenges await! Start by building a shock-resistant tower with the High Resistance Challenge, then create a mechanism that will have you throw a ball at different targets with Targeted Throw and redirect a laser towards a target by passing through the greatest number of portals with Laser Maze. Here, you’ll test your intuition, creativity and ability to adapt prototypes!

Discover The Story Behind Bombardier

Attend the theatre of objects presentation entitled Passion as a way of life, shown in Joseph-Armand Bombardier’s first garage! Discover his life, his work and be inspired by his extraordinary achievements. Then, through a multimedia show produced by Moment Factory, witness the evolution of the Bombardier company from the creation of the emblematic Ski-Doo® snowmobile to the creation of the Bombardier brand.

Continue your visit with a tour highlighting the creative ideas and technologies developed by Bombardier and BRP. Become the star of a Ski-Doo® commercial from any period; Design your vehicle of the future in the Idea Studio; Ride a life-size model of Toronto’s Flexity tram; Pilot an airplane and fly over the city of Montréal, and much more!

Immerse Yourself in the World of Trains

You’ll have until March 11 to experience the temporary exhibition A Railroad to Dreams, presented by Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Archeology and History Complex. In the sound ambiance of a large train station, discover the world of miniature trains of all shapes and forms, from simple children’s toys to accurate scale models, accompanied by some amazing archive photos and videos.

Explore the Creative Universe of Fil de Trame

Across the street, at the Centre d’exposition Yvonne L. Bombardier, enjoy the impressive Fil de Trame visual arts exhibition by European artists Luc Pallegoix and Ryth Kesselring. Pallegoix embroiders wood with Phentex yarns, a synthetic fibre widely used in traditional Québec culture, while Kesselring weaves threads of natural fibres into her loom and incorporates textile plants found in Québec into her installations. A game of seek and find will be on site to give you a unique opportunity to explore these creations.

Would you like to learn more about the life of Joseph-Armand Bombardier? Rain or shine, the Museum welcomes you to its enriching activities!
