Ascot Corner


Founded in 1901, the municipality of Ascot Corner drew its name from an English village, Ascot, which was renowned for its equestrian grounds. George Stacey – whose father, a government employee in London, sent his son to Lower Canada to avoid jail for bad gambling debts – was one of the fledgling town\'s first residents.
