La semaine dernière, j’ai visité le Café du Flâneur situé dans le village de Saint-Camille. Ce dernier faisant partie du réseau de Cafés de village des Cantons-de-l’Est, on m’en avait souvent parlé. On m’avait dit à quel point les lieux étaient charmant et les repas gourmands, mais je devais absolument aller le voir de mes propres yeux. Et j’en suis tombée sous le charme instantanément.
Dans les mots qui suivent, je vous raconte ma visite à Saint-Camille, qui m’aura marqué bien plus que je ne l’aurais imaginé.
Le Café du Flâneur, c’est plus qu’un café. C’est un lieu de rassemblement, c’est l’âme d’un village magnifique, c’est des produits locaux…C’est tout ça, et bien plus, beaucoup plus.
Le Café du Flâneur, c’est aussi le P’tit Bonheur, dans le même bâtiment, qui reçoit chaque année depuis plus de 30 ans une quinzaine d’artistes de renommée. Des artistes comme Louis-Jean Cormier, Patrice Michaud, Dan Bigras ont joué dans cette salle qui accueille une centaine de personnes. C’est également l’Espace Hortense au deuxième étage, qui reçoit annuellement entre 6 et 8 expositions.
Le Café du Flâneur, c’est aussi l’âme de Saint-Camille. C’est un café au cœur du village qui vous offre une vue splendide sur le Camilois, à la fois centre de congrès et site religieux. C’est aussi un arrêt gourmand sur le chemin des Cantons et une grande terrasse paisible, où décrocher du quotidien devient vite une tâche facile.
Le P’tit Bonheur de Saint-Camille est une idée qui a grandi dans le cœur des citoyens du village, qui venait de perdre leur lieu de rassemblement. Le but était, et est toujours, de rendre service aux 520 Camilois et Camiloises en organisant diverses activités communautaires et culturelles.
Ainsi, tous les vendredis depuis l’ouverture des lieux, le P’tit bonheur organise des repas de pizzas faites à la main par des bénévoles. Deux mardis par mois, les citoyens sont également invités à participer au traditionnel repas communautaire.
C’est là qu’on voit à quel point la communauté est importante dans le village de Saint-Camille. Tout est mis en place pour faire plaisir à tous, pour que chaque individu se sente réellement chez-soi. En tant que visiteuse, j’ai vite remarqué ce sentiment d’appartenance au village, tant dans le sourire des individus que dans leurs salutations entre eux. C’était comme si, pendant un instant, je rencontrais une très grande famille.
C’est magique à quel point un simple lieu peut transmettre tant de choses en si peu de temps.
Sur place, j’ai goûté à l’une des spécialités du Café du Flâneur : le burger gourmand au poulet. Il est accompagné d’une salade jardin et de délicieuses frites. J’ai également bu un café au lait sur la grande terrasse du Café du Flâneur. C’était délicieux! En plus, en tant que Café de village, ce resto met de l’avant les produits de la région et encourage les agriculteurs d’ici.
Bien que Saint-Camille soit un tout petit village, il y a quand même beaucoup de choses à visiter dans le coin. En me rendant au café, j’ai aperçu de nombreuses fermes et producteurs, tels que la Ferme lait sanglier des bois et la miellerie Lune de Miel. Il y a aussi les Concerts de la chapelle, le festival Masq’alors!, la Journée des Cordes, le sentier familial, la fromagerie Maison grise à Wotton, la cabane à sucre végétarienne à Dudswell…Et ce sans parler des magnifiques paysages fleurit qui ornent le charmant petit village de Saint-Camille!
Le Café du Flâneur, c’est un café qui mérite d’être visiter et revisiter.
