Tour the Christmas markets…

Around the region, the Christmas markets are in full swing. At least a dozen of them are open this weekend. Take a look at our attractions calendar to see where and when.

Free films for small fry!

This Sunday, at Sherbrooke’s Maison du Cinema, kids can watch movies for free. In exchange, cinema-goers are asked to bring some food (non-perishable) to donate to Moisson Estrie – a fun outing for a good cause!

Pick your own Christmas tree

If you’re already feeling in a festive mood and all that’s missing is the heady scent of pine, then this weekend, why not go and pick your own Christmas tree? There are several places around the region where you can do just that. They include Plantation Steve in Cookshire-Eaton, Plantations Stephen Perreault in Windsor and Verger Champêtre in Granby.

Attend a concert

Sherbrooke’s Symphony Choir, made up of 100 mixed voices of all ages, will be performing Mozart’s Solemn Vespers and Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna on Sunday, at the Saint-Famille Church in Sherbrooke (3pm). What a lovely way to enjoy the close of November as it shifts into December – a month full of promise….

Santa Claus parade in Sherbrooke

On Sunday, Santa Claus returns to Sherbrooke. He leaves around 3pm from the corner of 13th Avenue and King Street East, with a whole host of fairytale characters. Music, dancing, hot chocolate, a campfire, treats, fireworks and the lighting of the giant Christmas tree. Let the festive season begin!

Bargain time!

Black Friday – THE best day of the year for bargains – is this weekend. Numerous enterprises, including some of our local spas and hotels, are slashing their prices, offering 50 percent (or more!) off their regular rates. Check with your favourite merchants, to see if they’re part of this crazy buying spree!
