Vous n’êtes pas du genre à prévoir des semaines à l’avance? Aucun problème, on a pensé à vous. Quels que soient vos goûts, vous tomberez sûrement sous le charme de l’une ou l’autre de nos suggestions.
Pique-niquer en (grosse) gang!
Priez pour qu'il fasse beau en fin de semaine afin de pouvoir profiter de l’événement Tellement pique-nique, qui se déroulera à Granby et ses environs. La cidrerie Milton, le Verger champêtre et le verger l’École du 3ème rang accueilleront des dizaines de pique-niqueurs qui pourront partager leur repas tout en profitant d’un site ravissant et des activités proposées (balade en tracteur, visite d’une fermette, etc.). Oubliez votre panier de pique-nique, vous préfèrerez sans aucun doute celui que vous pourrez vous procurer sur le site, composé de tout plein de produits locaux, comme ceux de la Ferme Castagne, des Produits Maty, de la chocolaterie Fleur de sel et de la microbrasserie Le Grimoire (selon l’endroit où vous irez). Coût : entre 15 et 25$ par adulte. Psst! Votre père apprécierait la sortie, non?
Country + BBQ + beaucoup de plaisir!
Votre papa aime le BBQ? Amenez-le à Richmond pour la troisième édition du Wolfe BBQ Fest qui se tiendra en fin de semaine. Regroupant amateurs et professionnels pour une compétition internationale de BBQ, l’événement se décline en une foule d’activités : dégustations (plusieurs de produits d’ici), ateliers, animation pour enfants, jeux gonflables, musique, etc. À noter : tous les ateliers culinaires sont une présentation des Gars de saucisse, Créateur de saveurs.
Se faire les mollets
Mettez votre père au défi! Ou alors invitez-le à venir vous encourager lors du Tour du Lac Brome. Ce qui rend l’événement vraiment intéressant, outre son décor magnifique, est qu’il propose une grande variété de parcours, tant sur route qu’en trail. Et pour tous ceux qui ont l’habitude de courir avec pitou, ils pourront le faire vendredi soir lors du canicross (2 ou 5 km), une nouveauté cette année. Une suggestion : le Bistro West Brome, annexé à l’Auberge West Brome et situé non loin du site de l’événement, constitue une halte que vous serez vraiment très heureux de faire. Promis.
Vivre l’ambiance d’un rodéo
Du 15 au 18 juin, le Rodéo d’Ayer’s Cliff battra son plein, lui aussi dans une ambiance country. Dresser la liste de toutes les activités prendrait des pages et des pages, mais assurément vous y verrez des chevaux, des taureaux, des cowboys, des spectacles, de la danse, une mini ferme ainsi que plusieurs artisans, producteurs et agriculteurs d’ici. De fait, le comité organisateur dit miser sur la valorisation des produits, tant artisanaux qu’alimentaires, de chez nous. Nous ne serons pas contre!
Bruncher… après un road trip
La route pour se rendre au restaurant La Ruée vers Gould, dans le canton de Lingwick, est tout simplement magnifique. De plus, ce coin de la région abrite l’un des rares ponts couverts de la province (qui en compte environ 80), soit le pont couvert McVetty-McKenzie. Construit en 1893, il s’agit également de l’un des plus vieux ponts couverts existants, ce pourquoi il est classé Patrimoine national culturel. Quant au restaurant, il vaut tout autant le détour avec son brunch copieux aux saveurs du terroir et aux inspirations écossaises, amérindiennes, britanniques et québécoises.
