Saint-Augustin-de-Woburn

Founded circa 1898 in the push for Francophone colonization, Saint-Augustin-de-Woburn is located south of Lake Megantic at the base of Mount Gosford, the highest summit in southern Quebec at 1 193 m in altitude. A forestry village near the U.S. border, it features the Louise-Gosford controlled harvesting zone with its hunting and fishing activities, together with the Forêt habitée du Mont Gosford, a popular outdoor destination. The Sentiers frontaliers, a 135-km-long walking trail network, with border peaks at 1 100 metres in altitude and enchanting scenery. The Summit Drive rest stop with its intriguing horizontal sundial is a must-visit site.
