Marston

Sector Megantic Region Population: 719

Marston, located on the western shore of Lake Mégantic, takes its name from a village in Yorkshire, England, and in 1859 it became a safe haven for Loyalists, who settled on Drum-A-Vack road, whose name is Gaelic for ”on both sides of the hill.” On Spring Hill road, the Echo Vale Cemetery is the final resting place of the McLeod, Rory, Murdo, and McIver pioneer families. On the main road, near the former church that has been converted into a summer theatre, you’ll find the municipal park with its Summit Drive stop and the starting point for the 4-km Lac au Sommet hiking trail. Baie Victoria has a marina to accommodate boaters.
