Lac-Drolet

Sector Megantic Region Population: 1,040

Along Summit Drive is Lac-Drolet, a peaceful village with an impressive industrial zone, the site of 10 or so businesses in the wood, granite, and leather-making sectors. In the centre of the village is Saint-Samuel Church (1898), built using local granite. Both the church and the old rectory have been designated historic monuments. Located at a 640-metre elevation in a former quarry on Mount Sébastien, the Maison du Granit presents the history of the quarries and stonecutters. This interpretation centre merits a stop for its activities, the exceptional vista, and its trails, including the Mount Morne trail, leading to an observation tower providing a 360-degree panoramic view. The lake’s beauty attracts fishing enthusiasts keen to catch bass and trout. A gourmet detour via the 5e Rang road gives visitors the opportunity to taste maple products from the Érable à son Meilleur shop, which has Créateur de Saveurs (flavour creator) designation.
