Danville, located at the border of the Eastern Townships and Bois-Francs tourist regions, came into its own with the arrival of the railway in the mid-19th century. Magnificent Victorian houses and an American-style town square are dazzling reminders of that era. The birthplace of many notable people, including Mack Sennett and Daniel Johnson, Danville has still 10% English-speaking.
