Saint-Denis-de-Brompton

The fate of this municipality is closely linked to that of its lakes: Grand-Lac and Petit-Lac Brompton, Montjoie, and Desmarais. The people of Saint-Denis live amidst natural beauty in a vacation setting. The founder of the area, Abbot Joseph Denis Bellemare, left his first name to this parish decreed in 1880. The second part of the name refers to Brompton Township. In its early days, only a few dirt tracks crossed the village, such as the Scotch Road, which recalls the town’s origins. The church’s stained glass windows, crafted with the help of Claude Lafortune of “L'Évangile en Papier” are worth checking out.
