Stanbridge East

The village of Stanbridge East has succeeded in preserving its original Loyalist architecture. The presence of the Anglican Church (1860), the United Church (1844), and the neoclassical former school are tangible signs of its past. The Missisquoi Museum injects life into the milieu, presenting exhibitions in the Cornell Mill (1830) and Hodge's General Store. The museum also welcomes visitors to the Walbridge Barn, an exceptional 12-sided, round barn, located in the charming hamlet of Mystic. This step back in time is a must for history enthusiasts where L’Oeuf, an artisanal chocolate shop, is also located. The annual apple pie festival, which is held in September, is as delicious an event as you’d hope.
