If the trend continues, fall will be warm and beautiful at the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke! Two new exhibitions with a landscape theme, particularly appropriate for the Eastern Townships, will open this October. |
Interpreted by Maurice Cullen and His Circle and reinvented by young artist Melissa Doherty, landscape art remains current and a number of variations on the theme will be on exhibit until January 2011.
Also at the Musée this fall:
• The Musée’s permanent collection: Espaces & Paysages
• Leonard Cohen Artworks continues until Sunday, October 3 while Molinari. Morceaux choisis ends on October 11. Contrary to general practice, for this event the museum will be open on Thanksgiving Monday from noon to 5 p.m.
• From October 9, 2010 to January 16, 2011: Melissa Doherty. Tour d’horizon
• From October 16, 2010 to January 9, 2011: Maurice Cullen and His Circle
• The Musée will take part in the Journées de la culture on Sunday, September 26 with an open house and will welcome visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two guided tours will take place at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Free admission.
• The 3rd Martini au Musée will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2010.
The Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke, located downtown at 241 rue Dufferin, welcomes visitors Tuesdays to Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
Admission: $7.50/adult; $6/senior; $5/student; family package available.
