Beginning on Saturday 26 March, the Musée des Beaux-arts de Sherbrooke presents the 6th edition of Salon du printemps des artistes des Cantons-de-l’Est. This special edition, presented in collaboration with the program Repérage Collection Loto-Québec, shows recent works from 22 artists of the Eastern Townships. The exhibition is scheduled to continue until 5 June and admission is free.
The exhibition: For this celebration of local artists, the Musée takes on the aspect of a souk, in its original sense – that is to say a market where everything is on offer. As is to be expected in contemporary art, the items selected by the curator of the exhibition, Sarah Boucher, cover the full range of artistic endeavour, from painting to sculpture by way of installations, photography, video, sound, maquettes, words and architecture. Multidisciplinary and interactive pieces are featured, and nature and technology are everywhere, reflecting the essence of our Townships experience.
