International Bromont: 720 horses at Bromont’s Olympic Horse Park!

2007-07-17, from Member
Bromont, July 17, 2007 – International Bromont, the most important equestrian event in Quebec and second most in Canada with more than $400,000 in prize money, welcomes you to Bromont’s Olympic Horse Park starting July 18, 2007. This two week Rendez-Vous from July 18 to 29, is already on its way to an incredible success.

Thirty one years after the presentation of Montreal’s Olympic Games, the 2007 Edition is already breaking records! The notoriety of the event keeps growing and drawing an extraordinary number of entries: Seven hundred and twenty horses will be present and will compete at their best in an exciting program. This international event will present our best Canadian riders. At the top of the list, the region’s darling, Mario Deslauriers, will get the crowd on its feet along with Éric Lamaze, Ian Millar, alias “Captain Canada”, and the fierce competitor, Laurie Bucci, to name but a few. Of course, the American riders will be here but the international character of this prestigious event is illustrated by the presence of riders from Colombia, France, Belgium, Mexico, Guatemala, and from the land where the horse is king, Germany; a first for this edition! Quebec and Bromont are clearly on the map!

Among the highlights, International Bromont features one of the five major events held annually in Canada as part of the qualifications for the World Cup Show Jumping circuit. Besides the events in which elite riders will perform, many other competitions will be held during these two weeks. Particularly noteworthy are the very popular Speed Derby, the Double Slalom and Jump Canada’s special event for Talent Squad competitors.

Always striving for excellence and constantly evolving, Bromont’s Equestrian Horse Park now offers a fourth show jumping ring and the surfaces have been reworked and improved. It is therefore not surprising that four new FEI (Fédération équestre internationale) classes have been added to the roster. These will allow riders to accumulate points and improve their international rankings. Bromont has also been selected to host a qualification event for the Olympic Games which will be held in Beijing next year. The public is invited to discover the panache, the prestige, the excellence and to witness the feats accomplished by these renowned athletes. Indisputably, this 32nd edition promises to be up to its reputation: High level competitions, charged atmosphere and always the magic that transforms this event into a real "happening". A variety of activities will allow the whole family to discover the horse’s world.

Along with family or friends, large numbers of horse lovers are expected from July 18 to July 29, 2007, at Bromont’s Olympic Equestrian Park, Highway 10, exit 78, 450 chemin de Gaspé.
