Whether you’re someone who likes to go at a leisurely pace or a more dynamic one – or somewhere in between – autumn in our region will engage all of your senses. Below are a few suggestions of what you can discover on foot, by bike, by car, alone, as a couple, with friends or family, with or without a picnic.

Dunham and surroundings

The Au Paradis des Fruits organic, family-owned farm in Dunham offers u-pick plums, pears, and 22 varieties of apples. And there’s more… tasting natural honey produced in the farm’s bee hives will sweeten you in a healthy way. Bring your children along! There are picnic areas, games, and beautiful countryside stretching over more than 100 acres. The farm’s motto over the past 50 years: one fruit a day brings you closer to paradise. Which paradise?

The mission of the Vergers de la Colline : create palatable high-end products known for their finesse, just perfect to celebrate small and big occasions. And always honour the integrity of Québec's emblematic fruit, the apple!

Not far from here is the Cidrerie Fleurs de Pommiers cider house known for its Pommeau d’or apple cider, and the Vignoble Domaine des Côtes d’Ardoise vineyard featuring the largest open-air art exhibition. More than 100 works are displayed throughout the vineyard gardens.

Compton

At the Gros Pierre orchard… in the apple business for more than 30 years, growing a dozen varieties in an orchard that boasts 18 000 apple trees with a view on Mount Orford. The apple holds no secrets for the Gros Pierre. Discover the many facets of this fruit by taking a tractor ride, hiking the interpretation trails, or sun tanning on the terrace-crêperie while enjoying a tasty crêpe. After the apples come… the pumpkins! A pumpkin sale will take place at the Verger le Gros Pierre on October 15 and 16. Activities include pumpkin picking, pumpkin decoration workshops, giant apple pie, hot apple juice, etc.

Not far from the apples, you’ll discover a young vineyard – only five years old – called the Coteaux du Tremblay… an invitation to savour its red, white, and rosé wines.

Magog-Orford Region

For apple picking, the Verger familial C.R. orchard in Magog takes the whole family on a ride along its apple interpretation trails. Have you ever eaten our ice cream made from apple coulis and our maple products?

The Au Vignoble d’Orford vineyard invites you to discover five little-known types of grapes in a magnificent setting, while the Vignoble le Cep d’Argent is a pioneer in the field of wine production.

The vegetable farm Chez Citrouilles et Tournesols welcomes you to its garden on a 1.5 km stretch of land at the base of Mount Orford, with sunflowers as far as the eye can see, plump pumpkins, vegetables, edible flowers, herbs….

From grapes to apples to pumpkins, our orchards and vineyards are well known for their abundance, welcoming atmospheres, and activities.
