Icy trail and outdoor rinks

 

Like to skate? The Eastern Townships offers many enjoyable skating experiences, especially since this sport can be so easily combined with other activities. Add to the pleasure with a great meal and an overnight stay, too, making your Eastern Townships excursion a full and memorable one.

 

 


At the Parc Daniel-Johnson skating site, the Lake Boivin ice oval is one kilometre long and 30 metres wide. A skaters’ cabin and skate rental and sharpening service are onsite.

 

Activities nearby: Four, easy-level snowshoe trails, totalling 20 km in Parc national de la Yamaska; and the Granby Zoo in winter… magical!

 

Meals: Family-oriented restaurants, and good dining establishments nearby.

 


The trail along Lake Memphremagog is so long that a cabin has been installed at each end. This trail, known for the quality of its ice as well as the outstanding panorama, is lit at night.

 

Activities nearby: Skiing and snowboarding at Mount Orford and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Parc national du Mont-Orford. Possibility of renting ice skates, snow scooters, H0K ski-snowshoes, snowshoes, or fat bikes at Vie de Plein air. 

Meals: Choice of very diverse restaurants for both families and sophisticated food lovers.

 

Make the most of Sherbrooke’s Domaine Howard, where the pond is transformed into a skating rink for the wintertime, and its Base plein air André Nadeau, which features not one, but three skating rinks.

 

In the Coaticook Valley, the Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook invites you to make the most of its skating rink, in addition to the many other activities it offers.
