Tailormade for a cycling trip

Cycling

The Eastern Townships is one of the prime destinations for cycling in Quebec. A scenic region of mountains, lakes, forests and historic villages, within easy reach of Ontario and New England, it offers bike trails by the score, designed for all levels of ability - whether for a day-long cycling trip or a lengthier stay.

There are many routes to choose from and the Eastern Townships cycling map can help you plan. The region is criss-crossed by a network of over 350 kilometres (218 miles) of designated bike trails, including six new circuits added this summer:

Your favourite routes by GPS

The Mapmyride app allows you to download your favourite six routes directly onto your GPS. It’s an easy and super practical way to explore the area because the directions are there - right in front of your eyes!

A whole lot more...

The Townships is a great cycling destination, because it’s designed for pedal power - slow, contemplative, challenging or sporty. There’s mountain biking as well and for cyclists with a sense of adventure, VéloVolant!

Don’t worry if you get tired. We’ve thought of that too! Taxi Vélo-Rando - a bike taxi - will pick you up (with your bicycle) and bring you back to base.

Speaking of which, look out for the Bienvenue cyclistes logo outside hotels, B & Bs and other tourist accommodations, indicating hostelries that provide extra services for cyclists such as repair kits and overnight lockups.

As you build up your appetite after pedalling in the fresh air, stop by a Cafés de village or pick up ingredients for a meal at a farmers’ market, a winery or from one of our Créateurs de saveurs.

You’ll find stopover places to enjoy an alfresco picnic amid stunning scenery within our four national parks or along the Townships Trail and the Wine Route. It’s no wonder the Townships is known as such a great cycling destination!
