Take your pick: adrenaline packed or slow and contemplative?
Last edition foodies’ favorite, the Académie Gourmande Provigo Le Marché will welcome again this year five renowned chefs. The 2015 participants are Pasquale Vari, Jonathan Garnier, Patrice Demers, Jean-Luc Boulay and Guillaume Cantin.
Moreover, these cooking experts will be preceded every day by one of the top chefs in the Eastern Townships: Charles-Emmanuel Pariseau, winner of Chopped Canada, David Vinas, Roland Ménard, Veronica Kaczmarowski and Olivier St-Arnaud. Every single one of these chefs will be joined by a Quebec winemaker for their presentations.
The Académie Gourmande schedule will also feature cooking showdowns between well-known local personas and students from Provigo’s Culinary School. Already confirmed participants include mayor Vicki May Hamm and president of the Souper du Partage organism, Jean Pelchat.
The musical stage will feature the comeback of last year revelation The Singles and will also welcome a myriad of artists including the likes of Gabriella, Runaway hommage à Bon Jovi, Stéphanie Bédard, Yzra, Jipé Dalpé, Blueprint, Olivier Brousseau and King Melrose. Following this year’s theme, the Fête des vendanges’ sommeliers will recommend to the singers one wine to accompany their musical performances.
New this year, the Dégustations VEGAS Exquis Magazine presented by spokesperson Jessica Harnois and sommelier Geneviève Thibault will offer three representations every day under their new tent located besides the Degustation marquee. Surprise guests will be on hand to discover wine’s many particularities with you.
Furthermore, the "Zone des petits raisins" will see its area double in order to offer kids more fun with talented entertainers such as the Cirque des Étoiles, the Caravane du goût and Mimi Papillon.
This year, an Espace Cocktail will be erected near the Gourmet Zone to offer festival goers a warm and welcoming respite. This new locale will offer an opportunity to discover a multitude of new cocktails made from Quebec alcohol. Come and learn how to handle a shaker like the best exhibitors from the Degustation Pavilion!
In order to avoid traffic jams and overloaded parking lots, a shuttle will be travelling between Domaine Parc Estrie and the Fete des vendanges’ site. This free initiative was made possible by a new partnership with Parkbridge. The organization hopes that the use of town buses will help them obtain the prestigious BNQ3 certification from the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables.
To facilitate access to the site, a new ticket booth will be erected for people who have pre-purchased their tickets online. The Fête des vendanges offers a 5$ discount on tickets purchased online before August 19th. Tickets to participate only in the Dégustation VEGAS with Jessica Harnois are also available.
