These wines that bring us together

The 24th edition of the Magog-Orford Wine Festival, presented by the SAQ, will be held during the first two weekends in September at Merry Point in Magog. In total, five days of pure pleasure to raise our glass with a good wine that brings us together.

The 2017 programming will mix classic and trendy news. The goal: keep the current Festival with the wine as the focal point.

VEGAS TASTINGS

Some animations have become classics impossible to circumvent. This is the case for the VEGAS Tastings, where a sommelier of Vins au féminin, namely a spokesperson of the event, Jessica Harnois, explains the ABC of the wine. We speak tannin, grape variety, acidity ... But above all, we savor, taste and learn to recognize the characteristics that stand out in our favorite wines.

VEGAS Tastings are so popular that a second tent will be set up on the site. This VEGAS 2 will feature beer, mixology and Quebec spirits.

PROVIGO ACADÉMIE GOURMANDE

The Provigo Académie gourmande returns for a third year. Each day, two chefs cook before an audience that tastes their recipe. These culinary demonstrations are a delight for young and old.

Speaking of the little ones, the children are invited to cook as chefs every day of the Festival at 11:30. Each young person will make his/her own pizza, rolling his dough and garnishing the ingredients of his/her choice.

SHOWS AND DISCOVERIES Several shows will be presented at the Bistro SAQ, including Florence K., Matt Laurent and David Jalbert. Not to mention the Tasting Pavilion with more than 300 Quebec products featured, the Pavillon des artisans and the Zone des petits raisins for families.

NEW : STREET FOOD AND OPENING NIGHT

Because it follows the trends, the Wine Festival grants a place of choice, this year, to the street food with an alley of foodtrucks. This popular food offer will allow visitors to enjoy a delicious meal with a good bottle they have just bought.

For those who love the trendy evenings, it is absolutely necessary to mark August 31 on your calendar (or fix a reminder on your smart phone). An opening night never seen before at the Magog-Orford Wine Festival. A sumptuous buffet dinner, appetizers and wine agreements; Live music ... In addition, part of the profits will be donated to the Christian Vachon Foundation, which works for perseverance in school. The number of seats for this evening is limited.

VIRTUAL REALITY

Among the other news, there are active yoga sessions on Saturday the 2nd and 9th of September. Physical activity and good wine: a happy combination!

Finally, the Wine Festival proposes a visit of a vineyard in virtual reality. A unique way to fly over the vines and enter a wine cellar. Highly technological harvests!
