Published on May 16, 2018

How about these - a walk in the mountains with man’s best friend, a tasty Breton crêpe imbued with local flavours and a toe-tapping evening of folk music? Once again, the Eastern Townships offers a multitude of ways to make your weekend unique and entertaining!

A hike with Fido up Mont Ham

A pilot project launched by Mont Ham, during which dog owners are allowed to take their pooches on a hike (seven times a year) continues this weekend. You and Fido can climb 713 metres (2,339 feet) above sea level, along 18 kilometres (11 miles) of marked trails and at the top, you’ll be awarded with a spectacular, 360-degree view!

A dance party at ShazamFest en Folk

A fundraising dance party – ShamFest en Folk - will take place this Saturday in the fields of Barnston West. Featuring three groups whose lively music will get your toes tapping, the dance party is open to all ages and families can camp on site. Food and beverages are also available.

A musical weekend at the Festival des harmonies et orchestres symphoniques du Québec

Thursday evening marks the beginning of a weekend-long music festival at Sherbrooke University. There will be 300 performances by 270 groups of instrumentalists and symphony orchestras – a multitude of new talent to discover and a musical treat for the ears!

A quirky weekend at Sherbrooke’s Nature and Science Museum

This weekend, if you’re looking for something unusual to do with the family, head for the Nature and Science Museum in Sherbrooke. Sample the simulations of earthquakes and tornadoes, but don’t be surprised if they evoke strong emotions. Scary stuff!

A lunch on the patio at Café Folies

Café Folies, a charming eatery, has just opened its doors in Ayer’s Cliff. The owners are warm and welcoming and they serve wonderfully tasty food including coffee (of course!), cakes and Breton crêpes. It’s the ideal spot to enjoy a yummy lunch in the spring sunshine! While you’re in Ayer’s Cliff, why not discover (or rediscover) the many charms of this corner of the Townships.
