Several municipalities of the Eastern Townships are preparing many new featured events for this summer! Here is a small preview of what you’ll discover.
This summer in the Granby region, Augmented Reality is taking the centre stage with a virtual zoo right in the middle of the city as well as with Dino Techno!
For example, you’ll be able to download a mobile application in Augmented Reality for free to view life size animals move about right in front of your eyes!
Also, the Zoo de Granby invites you to discover or relive the Dinozoo experience. What’s new this year? You can transform yourself into a dinosaur thanks to the # TransfoDino, look for dinosaur eggs hidden throughout the zoo site by downloading an application and test your knowledge of the Jurassic period on an enormous iPad.
The Sentiers de l’Estrie group has opened a new loop on Mont Chapman, offering superb points of view over 8 km of trails and a 300-meter climb. Also, vacationing guests at the Plage McKenzie campground will be able to take advantage of several new multi-sports spaces.
The Circuit de l’Abbayeis a long-distance walking itinerary; a 152 km loop starting and ending at the incredible abbey of Saint-Benoît-du-Lac. The trail passes through eight municipalities with amazing background landscape.
Starting on July 4, the Art et Mosaïque circuit, composed of 15 floral sculptures will enhance the Lac des Nations promenade, but also the park at Le Domaine Howard, the Marché de la Gare de Sherbrooke marketplace and the gardens of the Townhall.
Also, from July 11 to August 18, Québec Issime will sing Starmania for you at Place Nikitotek, right in the middle of downtown Sherbrooke. A show you can’t miss!
The Fête de la magie, which will be held on August 24 and 25 in Coaticook, will surely be quite impressive! Most of the program is free of charge and promises to be a thrilling experience!
New works of art and exhibits will be presented throughout the Haut-St-François: from the heart of the town of Cookshire-Eaton to the Atelier Auckland by way of the John Henry Pope exhibit, there’s a lot to be discovered. This, plus the highly anticipated inauguration of the 11 Comtés brewery!
Five years after the railway tragedy, the heart of the town will become an open-air museum. By following this new route surrounding the downtown area, visitors will experience unique emotions as the path takes them on a pilgrimage to a learning opportunity between nature and culture.
A new guide map of the MRC des Sources attractions was launched last May 15 and will allow visitors to better locate themselves as they discover the very diversified municipal offer! The Circuit Saveurs et Savoire-Faire, highlighting our artisans and producers, will also return for a fifth edition at the end of the summer.
The new signature attraction of Brome-Missisquoi is certainly the ObservÉtoiles, in partnership with the National Geographic Society. An open sky planetarium, Augmented Reality, a grandiose show… A unique world experience!
