WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND - NON-STOP ACTION IN THE REGION OF DES SOURCES (21-23 SEPTEMBER)

There are lots of things going on this weekend in the des Sources region! A world highline record to beat, music on a mountain peak and a poutine festival. And that’s just a sampling…

Highlining over the Asbestos Mine

A gathering of highline pros will make you break out in a cold sweat as they teeter across the Asbestos mine, suspended in mid-air. They’re competing with one another to beat the world record! An amazing feat but heart stopping to watch….The lineup of other attractions includes music, food trucks and beer from the Moulin 7 microbrewery.

Listen to blues at Mont Ham

The fourth edition of Montagne et Musique (“Mountains & Music”) kicks off this Saturday at 3pm, with Trini, a blues-reggae group. There’s a great atmosphere at the Mont Ham regional park - a great place to unwind with a local beer, after a hike in the great outdoors.

Also worth noting are the weekends when you can camp at the summit of the mountain, as well as those during which you can bring your dog – the perfect opportunity for Fido to enjoy a walk in the park!

A 15-km bike ride

Take the bike path (it’s built along a former railway line) and cycle through the region of Bois-Francs to Richmond, through Danville, a charming “Coeur villageois”. Stop off at the Étang Burbank (Burbank Pond) where you’re sure to spot many migrating birds. What better way to enjoy the first signs of fall, as the leaves start showing a hint of red?

Gleason en poutine – a ‘tasty’ time at Mont Gleason

This weekend it’ll be very hard to resist fries drenched in gravy and melted cheese curds. Poutine, in other words! Yum-yum! Walk around the mountain or sway to the sound of music. Perhaps you can work off some calories…
