What to do this weekend – May 31-June 2

Gourmet delights and sporting events are on offer during this first weekend in June. On the menu – local beers, regional products and, amid spectacular mountain scenery, an obstacle course and a couple of bike routes.

Beer tastings, food trucks and live entertainment in the great outdoors. Don’t those sound great? Head for Victoria Park in Sherbrooke where you find all those and more at Festibière, the second edition of Sherbrooke’s beer festival. More than 50 microbreweries will be on hand to tempt your taste buds! As well, there will be conferencences about the world of beer and a giant games area with activities such as Twister and Jenga – fun for every age group!

Food infused with the local terroir at Clé des Champs de Dunham


Gourmets will have a field day at Clé des Champs de Dunham, a food fest featuring 75 talented, creative food producers from around the Brome Missisquoi region. This agritourism event offers foodies the opportunity to taste the many delicious products that are infused with the local terroir, so characteristic of the Eastern Townships.

Run, jump, climb, crawl….all part of the XMAN Sutton Challenge!


Test your limits during the XMAN Sutton. 40 obstacles dotted along a 7-km mountain course, during which participants have to run, jump, carry a load, cross over streams, climb steep hills, crawl through mud and scramble over walls (to name a few of the challenges). It’s a real workout!

The pleasures of pedal power!

Le Grand Tour du lac Mégantic


This bike tour takes in the Summit Drive and follows a circular route around Lake Megantic. An annual event, the Grand Tour is designed for both families and intermediate cyclists. Families can follow a 33-km route and be transported back to the start by shuttle bus, while intermediate cyclists can pedal on around the Lake - a 55-km circuit. On both routes, cyclists enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Appalachian Mountains.

Sunday, June 2 | Departure from parc de l’OTJ in Lac Megantic

The Gran Fondo Cantons-de-l’Est

This event offers cyclists five different routes, which vary in length between 55 and 125 kilometres. Along the way, cyclists are faced with number of challenges and they can time their progress as they pass through through picturesque villages and the bucolic countryside.
