What to do this week-end - October 4 to 6

Published on Sept 30, 2019

This weekend you’ll have an embarrassment of riches in the Eastern Townships – an outing along Compton’s culinary route, the chance to enjoy the fall colours at the top of the mountains, a heart-pumping run in Lac Megantic, the sound of cool jazz in Sutton or a visit to a winery. It’ll be pretty hard to choose between them don’t you think?

A gourmet jaunt around Compton

Six venues and more than 50 food producers and artisans are participating in this weekend’s Comptonales, a gourmet food fest in Compton. A shuttle bus (it’s free of charge) will transport you around the various venues - Domaine Ives Hill, Verger Gros Pierre, Verger Ferland, Fromagerie La Station, Érablière du village and the Lions Park. A great selection of gourmet tastings awaits visitors – delicious goodies that are the products of the local terroir. Here is a preview of the event.

Don’t miss the cocktail party (with nibblies) that opens the event on October 4. (Reservations required.)

It’s grape harvest time!

At this time of the year, our regional wineries take on a festive air and they invite visitors to participate in the activities of the season – picking and crushing the grapes and of course, tasting the delicious end product!

Watch our video starring the co-owner of the Vignoble Le Cep d’Argent, Jean-Paul Scieur, during which he demonstrates the correct way to sample wine. Cheers!
