A River’S Path | Following The Pike River

This event is over.
May 27, 2018 ~ Oct 7, 2018

From May 27th to October 7th, 2018.

The Pike River has consistently played an important role in Missisquoi County’s history. It has been used by people for over 5000 years and like most rivers, it has served as a highway for the transport of ideas, communication, trade and commerce, and people. It has also provided food, water, entertainment and spiritual reflection. As one poet said, rivers are “a living body, not a passive witness to history.”

This exhibition looks at the historic use of one of Missisquoi County’s most important rivers and what impacts various human activities have had and the environmental legacy of today’s use of the river.
