Sherbrooke, May 1st, 2012 – For several years now, Eastern Townships Tourism (TCE) has been working towards positioning itself as a « gourmet » destination – another aspect of the « Art of Living » that is the Townships’ signature brand. TCE has done so by capitalizing on its strengths and forming, in collaboration with several partners, the « Créateurs de saveurs » (roughly translated as « Creators of flavors ») and the « Cafés de village », a collection of small eateries. Today, a new network is joining our gourmet offerings, namely, the Chefs créateurs (Creative Chefs.) |

The Chefs créateurs work in around 20 of the region’s best restaurants. Innovative, passionate and creative, these culinary masters incorporate the latest trends in their sophisticated, flavorful cuisine, offering diners an unforgettable gourmet experience. For discerning consumers, keen to sample local products, the Chefs créateurs trademark is an easy way to identify the restaurants that specialize in high quality regional fare. |

The following lists the 20 establishments and their chefs:

In order to qualify for the Chefs créateurs logo, chefs have to fulfill the following criteria. They must :
• Be a member of Tourism Eastern Townships (restaurant category). Their establishment cannot belong to a chain or a franchise
• Work with a minimum of five producers or regional food processors and incorporate at least 10 of their products in their dishes, including a good number of Créateurs de saveurs
• Identify at least one regional dish on the menu, showcasing the local ingredients and indicating those that have been produced by Créateurs de saveurs
• Always offer at least one local wine or beer, indicating its provenance on the menu.
The final selection was made by a committee led by Tourism Eastern Townships.
