Sherbrooke, July 3rd, 2025 – More than 20 events are scheduled for this summer’s festival season in the Eastern Townships! They are themed around a wide range of interests - music, gastronomy  and the visual arts (to name a few). 

On the agenda: 

Bromont’s FAUNE festival features “sunny” house music on four Saturdays – July 5 and 19, and August 2 and 16. (Free of charge, 2pm-9pm).

The Old Bromont Public Square will be hosting a variety of free activities and shows (comedy on July 11), dance workshops, yoga sessions – a veritable outdoor theatre!

Bromont Public Market
Every Sunday until October 12
The market stalls overflow with fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables and for shoppers, it offers the ideal opportunity to chat to the local merchants, sample something new and stock up on supplies (9am-2pm).
 

Bromont Blues
Thursday evenings from July onwards.
Back by popular demand, this year’s edition of this vibrant event features all-Canadian entertainers who will be performing at the Old Bromont Public Square. (Free of charge, 6pm-8pm.)

Sherblues & Folk
July 3-5
Sherbrooke will once more be running its popular Sherblues & Folk festival, which takes place at a number of different venues around downtown. Headliners include singer/songwriter Lou-Adriane Cassidy and composer/folk singer Sara Dufour. A few surprise performers will also make their appearance.

ShazamFest
July 10-13
This quirky, open-air festival in rural Barnston-Ouest has been around for a couple of decades. The lineup of events is an eclectic mix of circus acts, music, art and food.

Oasis de la rue Principale à Granby
July 11-12
All this weekend, during the Oasis Festival, Granby’s Main Street will come alive with entertainment, food and microbrewery beer! Saturday night is party night and Ariane Moffat, one of Quebec’s leading singer/songwriters, will be performing! (9pm-11pm. Bring your own chair.)

Festival des vins de Bromont
July 12-13
Building on its success in 2024, Bromont’s Wine Festival is back for a second year. Its opening hours have been extended (11am-6pm) and as during last year’s event, participants will include vintners and wine merchants from around the Townships and other areas of the province. The official spokesperson is none other than Elyse Lambert, voted Canada’s best sommelier in 2015 and the fifth best in the world in 2016!

Fête du lac des Nations
July 15-20
Sherbrooke’s venerable summer festival has been running for 44 years and this year’s edition promises to be as exciting as ever! Popular entertainers such as Charlotte Cardin, Éric Lapointe, Papa Roach and Alessia Cara will be headlining and every evening, there will be a spectacular fireworks display – the Grands Feux- starting at 10pm. The sky will also be illuminated with an impressive, musical drone display above the lake. A temporary fairground will be erected in Jacques Cartier Park and there will be face painting and inflatable games – perennial favourites with small fry!

Festival l’Underground de Waterloo
July 18-19
Waterloo’s Underground Festival is a celebration of alternative rock, punk and heavy metal music. Some of the 11 groups taking part are Quebec bands Obliveon and Beyond Legacy and the metalcore band Dead Legacy from Mexico City. The concerts are free and they take place at Waterloo Municipal Beach where visitors can also enjoy water games or rent a boat.

Festival SpiriTuo
July 19-20
This booze fest showcases Quebec spirits – the locally distilled alcoholic beverages that are so popular - and the art of mixology. Held at Parc des Braves in downtown Magog,  SpiriTuo will be attended by around 20 exhibitors who will offer tastings and advice.

Festival Colline
August 7-9
This year, the Festival Colline in Lac Mégantic is adding a few “extras” to its musical program– a kayak outing on the lake itself, a hike up Mont Gosford and a daylong yoga retreat at a spa. The performers will include Cœur de Pirate, Claude Dubois, and Marjo who will perform on outside stages in the Mont Mégantic International Dark Sky Reserve. The timing of the festival happens to coincide with the start of the Perseids meteor shower!

North Hatley Jazz Festival
August 7-10
This brand-new jazz fest is launching its first edition in style. Along with concerts by accomplished performers, there will be jam sessions, lectures and storytelling sessions. The events take place at different venues around this postcard-pretty village.

Symposium Waterloo et l’Art d’Aimer
August 9-10
The 18th edition of the Symposium Waterloo et l'Art d'Aimer is taking place at the Parc du Carré Foster in Waterloo on August 9 and 10, 2025. Mrs. Elyse Turbide, a professional artist from nearby Shefford, has been appointed as honorary president of the event, which brings together 74 painters from around the province of Quebec. Free admission.

Festival international de la chanson de Granby
August 14-24
This prestigious song competition is now in its 57th year! Down the decades, the Festival international de la chanson de Granby (FICG) has launched the careers of many francophone artistes. The celebration of song takes place at a variety of venues around town and on three Thursday evenings in August, performers will be at the Public Square in Old Bromont (August 7, 14 and 21).

Symposium Bromont en art
August 22-24
The Bromont Art Symposium showcases visual artists from around the region (and across Quebec) and it has become a forum for artists and visitors to network and exchange ideas. The Symposium also gives young, emerging artists the opportunity to display their work in public, often for the first time!

Dirt Fest and Miniduro 2025
August 23
The Bromont National Cycing Centre (CNCB) is organising a fun cycling event to mark the end of the summer season – Dirt Fest and Miniduro. The morning session will introduce young cyclists to “enduro” (bike racing over rough terrain) while the afternoon will feature seasoned cyclists showing off their technical skills to the general public.

Abercorn Lyrique
August 29-30
This end-of-summer event at Abercorn’s Cultural Centre (the former All-Saints Anglican Church) features performances by well-known Quebecois opera singers.

Festival des bières de Waterloo
September 20
This year marks the eight edition of the Waterloo Beer Festival which will be taking place at Place du Centenaire.  Some 20 local and regional brewers are participating in this free event including Robin Bière Naturelle, Moulin 7, Hop Station, Le Fermentor and La Knowlton Co. Joining the exhibitors this time around is a food truck from the venerable Ben La Bédaine de Granby resto!

Les Folies Gourmandes
September 26-October 4
The Folies Gourmandes, now in its third year, is a food-oriented festival that takes place in and around Granby. It’s held in two parts. From September 26-28, foodies will be able to enjoy exhibits by local food producers, lectures, culinary workshops, free family activities and a festive evening at Place du Marché in downtown Granby. The second part (September 27-October 4) is comprised of a couple of gourmet food tours through the region of Haut Yamaska. The entire 2025 program will be published soon!
