Historical museum housed in a magnificent granite residence, built in 1859 for the Colby family. Permanent exhibition (furniture, costumes, paintings and original art objects) on the lifestyle of the Victorian era. Visite Victorian gardens. Temporary exhibitions addressing particular themes of regional interest. The museum is under the care of the Stanstead Historical Society, founded in 1929. The mission of the Stanstead Historical Society is to gather, preserve and share knowledge and appreciation of all individuals who have lived in our bordering community. The Society plays an increasingly important role in passing on knowledge about our collective past.
