Two days of pedalling across the Memphremagog area to discover our majestic Lake-to-Mountain panoramas, destinations encouraging you to slow down awhile, and a wealth of unique heritage architecture. Whether it’s out of love for the sport or simply to explore a new, more respectful way of travelling, dare to follow this itinerary that will take you off the beaten path across the Eastern Townships.

Heading Out on Your Bike in the Region

The Aventurier de Potton Route

This 29 km bike loop will have you ride out on some of the region’s most beautiful gravel roads. With so many different viewpoints along the way, it’s an invitation to enjoy some truly awe-inspiring moments! Especially when you cycle your way on Province Hill Road, where the horizon opens up to make way for these amazing landscapes with the border mountains as a backdrop. Foodies will discover plenty of delicatessens and microbreweries along the way. Your base and arrival point is Mansonville, a picturesque village that bustles with life throughout the summer season.

Relaxing by the Water

The Vale Perkins Beach

About an hour after you’ve set out, just after cycling your way alongside Owl’s Head Mountain, you’ll enter the hamlet of Vale Perkins. Turn off the cycling circuit’s official route to reach the municipal beach on the shores of Lake Memphrémagog. It’s the perfect place to take a mid-route break and to cool off while enjoying your focaccia! Open 7 days a week from June to August, with a supervised swimming area.

Make sure you get a restful night’s sleep by booking at this hotel located at the foot of the Owl’s Head Ski Resort. Established above the main chalet, some of the 10 suites enjoy breathtaking views of the mountain, while others can accommodate up to 6 people. Heading Back on the Road Again on Your Bike

The Route des Pèlerins

This route, a more challenging part of your itinerary, will have you take on a 52 km loop where you’ll explore an amazing panoramic route, and discover some of the Memphrémagog region’s most emblematic heritage treasures. The starting point for this paved route is set in Mansonville, but for the purpose of our travel proposition, we suggest you head out directly from the MTN Haus hotel to reach Val Perkins (2 km). For more experienced cyclists, it will take you about 3 hours to complete this segment with elevations reaching a maximum of 565 m.

The Abbey of Saint-Benoît-du-Lac

By heading north alongside Lake Memphrémagog towards the town of Austin, you’ll reach this famous abbey. Its imposing castle-like structure, to this day, still welcomes a monastic lifestyle and traditions. On site, you can park your bikes and take a guided tour, or drop by the boutique where you’ll find gourmet products and crafts. Here, the monks work all year to produce such delicacies as cheeses, compotes and ciders!
