After the Holidays, we often feel the need to relax and get away from the hubbub of everyday life. If this is the case for you, here’s our proposition for a short stay in the Sherbrooke region as you offer yourself some amazing wellbeing.

  • Day 1
  • Day 2

Pamper Yourself at a Spa

Start your day by treating yourself to a relaxing thermal experience at Strøm spa nordique, at only 5 minutes from downtown Sherbrooke. On the menu: outdoor hot tubs, a Finnish sauna, a eucalyptus steam bath, thermal and Nordic waterfalls and many indoor and outdoor relaxation areas with fireplaces. Everything to escape your daily grind!

Have a Meal in a Cool Neighbourhood Restaurant

Then, head to the delightful Rue Montréal street, in Sherbrooke’s Vieux-Nord, to Café Pierre Jean Jase. You’ll be warmly welcomed by their attentive and friendly staff. In this true Sherbrooke institution, renowned for its Café de village banner, you’ll enjoy an amazing meal, whether you opt for their salads, their pizzas or their delicious lunchtime menus. Everything here is concocted with great care and local products.

Escape inside nature … in the middle of the city!

After a fine meal, why not stretch your legs and fill your lungs with fresh air? We suggest you go to the Marais Réal-D.-Carbonneau marsh where you’ll discover a wealth of flora and wildlife. Then, head out to the Sanctuaire de Beauvoir and explore its open spaces in an ambiance of inner renewal as you admire the magnificent landscape.

Offer Yourself a Gourmet Supper

To end this first vacation day, spoil your belly by visiting the restaurant Auguste. Its original and sophisticated French cuisine showcases our regional products. Vegetarian risotto, trout tartare, Ducs de Montrichard duck filet … you’ll discover not only all their succulent gourmet options, but also an incredible wine selection!

Spend the Night in a Heritage Home

For the perfect ending to this wonderful day, take a room at the Île de Garde Bed & Breakfast in one of the most beautiful homes in the Vieux-Nord sector. Built in 1872, it offers both authenticity and refinement and the friendly hosts will warmly welcome you. The building’s architecture, its noble materials, the relaxing calm you’ll discover will make your stay an unforgettable one. The next morning, you’ll savour a breakfast prepared with local ingredients and artisanal products respecting nature.

Go for a Nice Walk

After having slept in, or after you’ve taken advantage of the B&B’s amazing library, you could go for a walk around the Lac des Nations by starting out at the Place de la Gare. The 3.5-kilometre path (very popular!) is well laid out and offers several rest areas. Without stopping, it will take you about an hour to cover the route, but we suggest you take your time and really enjoy this moment. Don’t forget to visit the artisans at the Marché de la Gare who will be happy to serve you!

Tea Time, English Style

Now, head out to Lennoxville, to the Uplands Cultural and Heritage Centre. You’ll experience a typical English Tea served by its staff in period dress. On weekends, you’ll discover the centre’s Small Tea menu, which includes, tea, two scones, Devonshire cream, strawberry jam and pastries (reservations are recommended). You’ll receive an attentive service in true British form!

Fill Up on Delicious Prepared Dishes

For a smooth return home, we highly recommend stopping at the Marché de la Ferme Beaulieu’s boutique. You’ll discover real kitchen pros who take to heart making your life easier by preparing the most delicious meals for you to enjoy. Meat, salmon, carrot and vegetable pies, quiches, vegetarian chili, spaghetti sauce, lasagna, chicken pot pie … all almost as good as the ones your grandmother used to make, or so we hear!
