Four Unique Winter Experiences

Updated on Oct 7, 2026

This winter, offer yourself a great time as a couple or with the kids as you discover these three unusual activities. We guarantee there will be plenty of laughter and fun!

Sutton’s Yooner Experience

When you go to the Sutton ski hill, you’ll discover this unusual yet easy-to-handle contraption, which will allow you to head down the slopes in a seated position. Have we piqued your curiosity? The Eastern Townships Tourism editorial team tested this thrilling activity last winter. They’ll have you discover what it means to go down a hill on a yooner in their own words and pictures right here!

Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $54 to rent your yooner for your lift ticket.

Kick Sledding in Coaticook

On a kicksled, all you need to do is yourself give a few push kicks to start gliding on the snow or ice. You can rent a kicksled by going to Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook and enjoy a ride on the trails! Want to share the adventure with your furry friend? For just $5 extra, rent dog traction equipment on site and let your pup pull you through the snowy landscapes. Learn more by reading Laetitia Clouzot’s blog, where she shares her experience!

Cost: $12,50 per hour

Fatbiking at Saint-Denis-de-Brompton

When the cold sets in, the adventure continues at Domaine Lac Brompton! With over 25 km of trails, the site invites the most curious visitors to discover fatbiking. Every day, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., you can rent bikes and all the necessary gear on-site. Looking for a group activity? Domaine Lac Brompton is ready to welcome you with over 80 fatbikes. Even the little ones can join in on a parent’s fatbike or on a kid's bike.

Duration: 2 hours
Cost: Fatbike rental (with trail access) starting at $45

Ice Climbing at Parc Harold F. Baldwin

Looking for a little adrenaline this winter? At Parc Harold F. Baldwin, strap on your crampons, grab your ice axes, and make your way up the frozen cliffs of Mount Pinacle. With every move, you’ll climb a little higher, surrounded by ice, snow, and mountain scenery. Your arms will definitely feel the workout, but the winter views along the way make every bit of effort worth it!

To climb, you must be a member of the Fédération québécoise de la montagne et de l’escalade (FQME) or purchase a day membership.

Cost: Free admission for climbers!
