4 Spring Getaways

The arrival of spring makes you want to get away for a while? Explore our suggestions and head out to the Eastern Townships to quietly start out the road trip season.

A Ballad in Our Blossoming Orchards

We agree, our apple orchards’ flowering season, as well as that of our other fruit trees (towards mid-May) is rather short. To really take advantage of the moment, it’s important to keep an eye out and to be ready to head out on the orchard routes very quickly! In the Townships, these will take you to the Cidrerie Milton or to the Équinoxe - Ferme cidricole cider houses where you’ll enjoy walking through their orchards when the trees are covered in apple blossoms. Later you can enjoy a country picnic here. Don’t forget to fill your baskets with the fine gourmet products you’ll find at the Cidrerie Milton boutique. Offer yourself a bottle of Éclipse cider, made with Frontenac noir grapes at the Equinoxe - Ferme cidricole.

On the Covered Bridges Route

Remnants of the past, the Townships covered bridges constitute a pleasant circuit to follow in spring. Water usually flows abundantly under these bridges, the trees begin to bud, birds are chirping everywhere… In short, with nature awakening, it’s the perfect time to take a trip along our back roads in search of these very photogenic heritage structures! Discover the history and location of the fifteen covered bridges in the Eastern Townships.

On the Hunt for Panoramic Landscapes

Do you know the Circuit des Sheds Panoramiques? Spread out across nine Haut Saint-François venues, these sheds are all positioned to have you admire a unique point of view overlooking the region. They’re also all linked to a specific theme. Head out on the trail of the First Nations in East Angus; Let yourself fall under the charm of poet Éva Sénécal’s work in La Patrie; learn more about the citizens of Lingwick, an old Scottish fief… A fine escapade where panoramic landscapes and cultural awareness come together!

A Road Trip Taking you from One Cœur Villageois to Another

With the arrival of spring, many villages and their Coeurs Villageois are more animated. You’ll head out from Dunham, the birthplace of Québec’s wine industry, to the charming lakeside town of Piopolis, by way of Ayer’s Cliff and Coaticook (and many others). Notably, you’ll discover a magnificent built heritage, amazing landcsapes, delicious local flavours, and the most welcoming people. Also, since the tourist season isn’t yet at its peak, you’ll have the place all to yourself … or almost!

Would you like to extend the pleasure? Book one or more nights in one of our many accommodations to make your spring getaway in the Townships even more memorable.
