Enjoy the Splendour of the Brome-Missisquoi Christmas Markets

Every weekend from November 29 to December 20, the entire region is bustling with activity to the beat of its Christmas markets. You’ll find each one more enchanting than the last! Come and meet the many local designers, artisans and producers, and fill your shopping bags with the most original gifts.

This year, experience a greener Holiday Season when you shop at Dunham’s Marché de Noël des Pas Pressés. Here all the exhibitors have been carefully selected to showcase their eco-friendly, people-friendly creations.

For a touch of whimsy, the Midnight Madness event in the town of Brome Lake is a must! On this magical evening, the town’s streets and businesses light up to immerse visitors in a totally festive ambiance.

You’ll discover each market has its own special features, so be sure to warm up at one of the region’s other Christmas markets. You’ll find Frelighsburg’s Market inside a heritage church! The one in Farnham is perfect for toasting some marshmallows, and the Bedford Lofts offers a venue that will attract the curious with its modern ambiance within the walls of an old factory! And don’t forget the ones in Bromont, Cowansville, Abercorn and Sutton, which are definitely not to be missed!

December on the Wine Route: Yes, it’s open!

Who said vineyards are all closed in winter? December is the perfect time to plan a different kind of outing, discover local wines in a snowy setting… and stock up for your holiday meals.

Several wineries welcome visitors on weekends for tastings, boutique shopping, or simply to enjoy a cozy moment — sometimes even around an outdoor fire.

Here are a few vineyards to visit this month:

  • La Belle Alliance: open until December 14
  • Vignoble Courville: open until December 19
  • L’Orpailleur: open until December 22
  • Domaine Bresee: open until December 31
  • Domaine Girouard: open until December 31

Psstt... Opening hours may vary depending on the weather or availability. It’s a good idea to check before heading out.

Endless Family fun Throughout the Holidays

Promising some truly memorable family getaways, you’ll always find plenty of ideas for outings in the heart of Brome-Missisquoi during the Holiday Season. A must: take your children to pick the tree of their dreams at one of the region’s Christmas tree plantations.

The Alpagas Sutton also offer farm visits, even in winter. It’s hard not to fall in love with these animals’ fluffy coats and gentle gazes. Psst... A good idea to slip under the Christmas tree: a pair of socks made from alpaca wool!

Then, for its warm, and friendly ambiance, the Little Book Fair at the Sutton School of Art is well worth a visit. Authors and illustrators from all over the Eastern Townships will be on hand at this literary event, open to all, on December 6-7 and December 13-14, 2025.

And of course, for an enchanting night outing: the Garden of Magic Lanterns and the illuminated trail in Lac-Brome are two beloved holiday traditions to experience in the region.
