Parc historique de La Poudrière de Windsor

Founded in 1864 in the wake of the American Civil War, the Windsor Powder Mill produced black powder, one of the essential components for explosives. Until 1922, the town of Windsor in Quebec made its living from this very dangerous industry. You can now learn its explosive secrets, and the how and the why of this manufacturing through a permanent interactive exhibition. During the summer, enjoy a theatrical guided tour through the vestiges of the buildings that made up the factory, as well as an engaging multi-sensory show. Personalized service, a souvenir shop, audio guides, a terrace, and a picnic area are among the services offered.
