If you’re attracted by the challenge of climbing two of the highest mountains in the Townships in as many days, this outdoor getaway in the Mégantic region is for you!

Fill your supply bag at Charcuterie Scotstown
The reputation of the charcuteries made here is unquestionable! For fifteen years now, these artisan charcutiers have been refining traditional recipes and are constantly working to create new flavours. Try the dry Franceville sausage, a true concentrate of the region’s terroir!
Ready for a big climb? Take the Sentiers frontaliers to the summit of Mount Gosford, the highest in southern Québec and the seventh highest in all of the province. From the observation tower, a magnificent view of the region and the American mountain ranges awaits at the top! A total excursion of approximately 9 km.
Head Out on a Hike inside the Parc National du Mont-Mégantic
Take a left turn to climb Mount Mégantic, which reaches an altitude of 1110 m, or take a right turn to climb Mount Saint-Joseph, which reaches an altitude of 1050 m! This is the choice you’ll have to make when you arrive at the Parc National du Mont-Mégantic… Unless you opt for the Trois-Sommets loop (15.8 km) which, in addition to the two peaks already mentioned, will also take you to Mount Victoria and the Pic des Crépuscules!
Take advantage of your getaway in the heart of the first International Dark Sky Reserve to visit the ASTROLab. Whether it’s an evening of astronomy at the foot of the mountain or a daytime excursion to the observatory at the top of Mount Mégantic, you’ll learn so much more about the splendours of the universe!
Spending the night in one of the thirteen cottages or in one of the rooms or suites of the Domaine des Montagnais means you’ll be sure to enjoy a peaceful sleep in the heart of nature. And before going to bed (weather permitting), go out and admire the star-filled sky. Totally mesmerizing!
