Where to Camp in Total Tranquility

Updated on May 2, 2023

Are you looking for a totally peaceful place to go camping? These five campgrounds are perfect for a vacation and to truly go off the grid. Nature and contemplation will be on the program!

Camping écologique de Frelighsburg

Nestled in the heart of a valley just before arriving at the American border, this campground welcomes you to a totally relaxing experience. Delight in one of the many campsites set directly by the peaceful Pike River or go for a swim in the pool right in the middle of this grass-covered venue. A 5-minute drive from the campground will take to the charming town of Frelighsburg where you’ll enjoy sitting on the terrace of either the Café Beat & Betterave or the or on the one of the delicatessen La Rumeur Affamée.

Camping La forêt de Freli

Vast, spacious and peaceful, are three words that perfectly describe the Forêt Freli campsites, also located at a short distance from the village of Frelighsburg. This 140-acre camping domain, between the woods and a verdant valley, will provide you with the most wonderful relaxation moments. Before you arrive, we suggest we suggest you reserve your place at the Vignoble Pigeon Hill or the Domaine du Ridge, two well-established nearby vineyards. There, you’ll find savoury wines you’ll enjoy even more sitting in front of a campfire!

Please note that the site also rents inflatable tents (Cosy Bubble) equipped with the basic amenities.

Camping Mont Expérience Hereford

A small oasis offering 15 sites in the forest at the foot of Mount Hereford, the Mont Expérience Hereford campground offers sites without services for both tents and small motorized vehicle. Four pods are also available for a ready-to-camp experience.

Good to know: The campground also manages the Vieux Panache overnight shelter, located on Mount Hereford’s Neil-Tillotson Trail. The shelter is accessible on foot via a 3.3 km hike or by mountain bike via a 1.6 km trail.

Camping du Lac Lyster

Located near Mount Pinacle and lake Lyster, this is one of the region’s rare private campgrounds to offer you rustic campsites. The venue offers you spacious sites in the heart of a maple grove, away from the seasonal campers. During your stay, don’t miss visiting the Mont Séguin observation point, situated just behind the campground and easily accessible via a ten-minute walk. You’ll discover a splendid view overlooking the lake and the mountain.

Camping du Pont Couvert

The secret you’ll discover at Camping du Pont Couvert? It’s a well-hidden campground in the middle of a forest, nestled between two waterways and able to welcome tent campers only. Yes, Le Secret, is the name of this rustic sector of the campground! To be enjoyed and especially not to be too widely divulged! We bet you’ll also be charmed by the Milby covered bridge, located at a stone’s throw away from the campground. As for golf amateurs, you’ll note that the Milby Golf Club is right next door.
