These Places Where to Enjoy Brunch in the Townships

Updated on Sept 25, 2024

It’s a weekend morning. You’re hungry but don’t feel like cooking? Then simply head out to one of these restaurants that serve some of the best brunches in the region!

La Shop

The specialty of this Café de village located in an old textile factory in Magog? Their grilled cheese sandwiches! Whether you choose their smoked salmon, the duck rillette, the chicken with pesto sauce, the marinated beef or the beet and goat cheese option, you’ll experience an explosion of flavours inside your mouth! The café also proposes more “traditional” dishes all equally delicious, served until 2 :00 p.m. on weekends. Then, to help digest your hearty meal, simply head out for a walk by the shores of Lake Memphremagog, in Pointe-Merry Park.

Café Aragon

Café Aragon offers a wide range of entirely homemade gourmet brunch suggestions. A sausage and spinach casserole au gratin, a waffle topped with apples, bacon, cream cheese and maple syrup, pizza with poached eggs and trout gravlax, eggs Benedict with Le Hatley cheese and ham … these are just a few of the selections offered by Café Aragon. Several vegan and gluten-free options are also on the menu. Once your appetite is satisfied, why not enjoy taking a walk along the trails of nearby Mont Bellevue?

Pleasant Hôtel & Café

Here, in the Café space of this small Sutton hotel, you’re sure to find plenty of variety since the brunch menu, served until 1:00 p.m., changes every weekend! Smoked salmon brioche toast, apple pancakes, cauliflower & ham bread, warm potato salad, squash & soft egg rösti … these are just a few examples of dishes featured on past menus. Please note that reservations are required, especially if you’re not a hotel guest. What about after-brunch options? Window shopping in downtown Sutton, hiking on the Village-Mountain trail, a tour of the heritage circuits …

Café Pierre Jean Jase

Established in Sherbooke’s Vieux-Nord sector for more than a decade, Café Pierre Jean Jase has been able to conserve its intimate family-friendly character where everyone truly feels at home. On the breakfast menu (served until 2: 00 p.m.), you’ll find an array of options featuring local products: omelettes, pancakes, French toast, fried eggs, and their famous homemade veggie pie, a must well worth the few extra dollars if it’s not already included in your selection! After you’ve enjoyed your meal, continue your day with a stroll along the Magog River Gorge or a visit to the Nature and Science Museum.

Le Café de la Brûlerie

When you set foot in the Café de la Brûlerie in Granby, the first thing you’ll notice is the aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Then as you glance around the room, the decor will charm you. And finally, your taste buds will be satisfied with their different selections featuring eggs Benedict, omelettes, sandwiches and dessert brunch dishes. Before leaving, don’t hesitate to stock up on fresh coffee sold in bulk: more than twenty blends and grinds are available. Good to know: the café is located close to the Estriade and Montérégiade bicycle networks. Something to encourage your digestion!

The Moulin à laine in Ulverton

Take a seat on the terrace overlooking the Ulverton River and succumb to the charms of the Moulin à laine d’Ulverton while enjoying a delicious all-you-can-eat brunch featuring scrambled eggs, warm cuts of meat, roasted potatoes, vegetable salads, baked goods and desserts! Two services are offered: one at 10:00 am and one at 12:30 pm. Your brunch package also gives you 50% off a guided tour of the mill, a heritage building dating back to 1840, as well as access to the five kilometres of trails. Come and enjoy! Note that brunches are only available on Sundays from the first weekend of June to Thanksgiving. Online reservations are required.
