What to do this weekend – September 15 to 17

Published on Sept 13, 2023

The month of September heralds the end of summer but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing to do as fall approaches. Far from it. This weekend is no exception!

Enjoy a landscape drenched in colour!

At this time of year, clad in their fall colours, the Eastern Townships are simply glorious! The region offers seasonal activities galore, many focused on the mountain resorts. Mont Sutton, Mont Orford and Bromont, montagne d’expériences, are all celebrating autumn. Visitors can enjoy activities such as live entertainment, food trucks, games for kids (to name just some of the festivities). Hike or take a chairlift to the top and admire the panoramic views. This is a wonderful time of the year. Don’t miss out!

The magic of Mother Nature surrounds you wherever you travel around our scenic region. In addition to the mountains, there are many other places to admire her handiwork. The following is a list of 30 areas that offer the most spectacular “leaf peeping” in the Townships.

Sample one (or more!) local beers

Are you a beer lover? If so, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of beers manufactured by the microbreweries that are participating in the La Grande Coulée Festival. Held at the base (and the peak) of Mont Orford, the multiday beerfest features a collection of tasting tents and stalls where you can sample local (and regional) brews, amid a party ambience, augmented by live entertainment.

A “River of Light”, not to be missed!
