What if this upcoming March school break were the ideal time for your entire family to experience a unique learning and discovery opportunity? Indeed, from March 1 to March 9, the Musée de l’ingéniosité J. Armand Bombardier, in Valcourt, will welcome you every day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and proposes a captivating program sure to awaken everyone’s curiosity, no matter their age!
This year, the exhibition Our Climate Quest: Small Steps to Big Change, produced by Science North , Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, takes visitors inside a far-reaching learning experience to discover how each gesture counts for shaping a sustainable future.
Created to interest small and tall alike, from the ages of 4 to 18, the exhibition promises both learning and fun moments while raising awareness about how the population can play a role in the fight against climate change.
First, the immersive Climate Action Show offers you a unique insight as you learn how you can make a difference for our planet through the inspiring stories of people who’ve become driving forces for change.
Then, explore the Interactive Thematic Zones where you’ll test your knowledge relating to eco-responsible practices. Here, you’ll learn how you can reduce your ecological footprint by making informed choices. You’ll discover how to optimize energy consumption in your home as well as in your community, and you’ll delve into the fascinating science of climate change by drawing inspiration from indigenous knowledge.
Here, you’ll also discover how wind turbines and solar panels work and create a sustainable meal limiting your environmental footprint! So, don’t miss this opportunity to become a true climate protector!
Until March 23, immerse yourself in the history of assembly lines at the Bombardier and BRP plants through four key eras. Discover all there is to know about the evolution of these assembly lines, from Mr. Bombardier’s first garage, to today’s interconnected modern factories. Through the tales recounted by former factory workers, you’ll discover the most authentic and fascinating stories, and learn more about work methods that marked the history of factory work while contributing to BRP’s development over time.
Explore the world of Joseph-Armand Bombardier! During your museum visit, you’ll discover the story behind this Québec inventor through the Theatre of Objects presented in his very first garage and a multimedia production by Moment Factory tracing the development of his company. You’ll enjoy an interactive experience featuring design and innovation; you’ll learn more about the evolution of the Ski-Doo® snowmobile, create your vehicle of the future in the Ideas Studio, become the star of a vintage advertisement and take the controls of an airplane with the help of a flight simulator. An immersive, fun adventure awaits!
No matter the weather, the Musée de l’ingéniosité J. Armand Bombardier is the ideal destination for an enriching family outing during the March school break. In addition to all the interactive options, and the museum’s immersive experiences, you can also discover the Centre d’exposition Yvonne L. Bombardier, just on the other side of the street. This winter, three artists will be exploring the concepts of intimacy and identity, through photography, poetry and visual arts. As you visit the exhibit, you can participate in a sort of treasure hunt to help you explore the different works of art in a fun way, as you produce your own poem generated by your feelings of the moment.
So, you must agree that during the upcoming school break, at the Musée de l’ingéniosité J. Armand Bombardier, you’ll discover something to please every taste!
