Fun for the family at Carnaval Mégantuque

Wrap up well and head for the Station touristique Baie-des-Sables. This weekend, the tourist cente is hosting Carnaval Mégantuque, a winter event that offers lots of fun for the family with tubing, inflatable games, music, entertainment, taffy on snow, family yoga and a campfire!

Cheer on the dogled teams competing in the Défi de la Gosford

Get out in the fresh air at Mont Gosford during the « Gosford Challenge », a provincial dogsled race that attracts some of the best teams from Quebec, Canada and as far afield as the United States. On-site attractions include a family area with inflatable games, a campfire, a slide and a winter BBQ. An outing on showshoes led by a guide, is also being offered to visitors, courtesy of Sentiers Frontaliers, a hiking club with access to a network of trails.

Explore the Fat Bike trails around the region

Take a look at our article describing the places you can enjoy fatbiking in the Townships, then jump in the saddle and go! The trails are designed for all skill levels and don’t worry if you don’t own a Fat Bike. Most of the venues will rent you one!


Sample some local wine

Did you know that the Vignoble de l’Orpailleur is open year round? Drop by for a wine tasting and check out the winery’s local specialties. Also worth a visit is the Économusée de la vigne et du vin, an onsite museum that describes the history of winemaking in the province of Quebec and the story of the vineyard itself.
