Now that summer has truly settled in the Eastern Townships, what better way to experience the wonderful colours and smells of the season than by visiting a garden? You’ll discover tons of flowers, plants and other vegetal species. We’re offering you five garden visit suggestions you’ll enjoy in the Townships.

The Garden of Scents — La Grange du Parfumeur

La Grange du Parfumeur is a perfume house inaugurated in 2015, and established inside a hundred-year-old barn in Magog. Since the summer of 2020, you can discover this perfume house’s domain by visiting the Garden of Scents, adjacent to the Grange’s boutique counter. Perfume artist Alexandra Bachand invites you to an immersive and intimate tour of her garden, allowing you to explore the house’s fragrance collection. It’s the perfect opportunity to find your new favourite scent!

You can reserve your visit to the Garden of Scents Wednesdays to Saturdays, starting on July 6.

Herbes Orford

A variety of edible plants, fine herbs, and medicinal plants compose the Herbes Orford gardens landscape. These Herbalism and Permaculture educational gardens promote everyday health through the growing of medicinal herbs and the development of natural products. Let yourself be inspired as you walk through their nurturing forest, and take the opportunity to attend one of the workshops offered during the summer!

The Herbes Orford gardens are open for visits Thursdays to Mondays, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For information : 819-481-1231

Located in Magog, Bleu Lavande is a not-to-be-missed stop in the region when we’re thinking of visiting a flower garden. Whether it’s for a picnic, for a walk across their fields of plants, or to learn more about lavender, the different spaces proposed by Bleu Lavande are sure to please everyone.

The Bleu Lavande spaces are in operation every day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Parc du Domaine Howard

For taking a small leap back in time, a walk in the Parc du Domaine Howard is the ideal outing. In the heart of Sherbrooke’s Old North, you will find numerous floral mosaics and flowerbeds brimming with perennials and annuals, as well as a century-old forest. The few small paths that dot the park will take you along the pond, in addition to letting you admire the architecture of the Howard family’s heritage homes.
