Eastern Townships's ski resorts: what's noteworthy

Updated on Oct 25, 2023

You're waiting impatiently for the snow to come? Our main ski resorts too! See what they have for you this season 2023-2024!

Bromont, montagne d’expériences

Renowned as the largest evening skiing domain in North America, Bromont reserves 101 of its 141 trails for skiers and snowboarders who want to enjoy the mountain after the sun sets. Another asset of the resort is its 450 acres of skiable terrain and its 7 slope sides that multiply the range of possible experiences.

Noteworthy
  • The expansion of the Versant des Épinettes, including the installation of a new high-speed detachable chairlift, the addition of a new illuminated evening trail and new snowmaking pipes.
  • An upgrade of the snowmaking systems with the addition of new snow cannons
  • ALPINN, a mountain condo-hotel project scheduled for construction in the spring of 2024.

Mont SUTTON

Mont SUTTON is a major ski resort in Quebec known throughout eastern North America for its unique glades concept and its numerous junctions where it is possible to create your own course, on each descent. Mont SUTTON also distinguishes itself by its authentic atmosphere, its omnipresent nature and its exceptional snow conditions.

Noteworthy
  • The modernization of the mountain’s snowmaking system, with optimized pumping capacity and new snow cannons to ensure more efficient snowmaking;
  • A new 90-metre bypass trail to facilitate access to the Alt. 840 summit sector, which until now had been reserved for more experienced skiers;
  • The inauguration of a new ski boarding carpet by chairlift IV.
  • Improved grooming thanks to the acquisition of a new, better performing grooming vehicle.

Mont-Orford

The Mont-Orford ski resort is located in the heart of the Parc National du Mont-Orford. Skiers and snowboarders will discover an extraordinary playground that extends over four slope sides and three mountains surrounded by a magnificent panorama. What’s more, Mont-Orford is the 4th highest skiable domain in Québec, and the highest in the Eastern Townships! It counts 62 trails, 18 glades, 5 lifts, 2 snow parks and one of the largest uphill skiing networks in the region.

Noteworthy
  • An investment of two million dollars for the purchase of a new pump for their pumping station, and several snow cannons which will result in opening the trails much faster at the start of the season for the enjoyment of skiers.

Owl’s Head

The breathtaking view overlooking Lake Memphremagog from atop mount Owl’s Head, is one of the many reasons why amateurs meet here. The 109 acres of well-developed skiing terrain and the state-of-the-art snow-making system covering more than 90% of the ski hill are also a key factor. The fifth highest skiable summit in Québec, with a vertical drop of 540 metres, Owl’s Head features some fifty trails, five lifts and a magic carpet.

Noteworthy
  • The reconfiguration of their two snow parks to improve the experience for snowboard enthusiasts;
  • New beginner and intermediate snowboarding lessons for 5- to 14-year-olds and a new intermediate and advanced clinic for adults.
