Updated on Oct 23, 2025

Illuminated decorations, inviting streets and sweet aromas: the Holiday Season appeals to our sense of wonder, immersing us in its warm ambiance. From November 15 to January 5, Sherbrooke will don its most beautiful seasonal colours, inviting you to its Holiday magic with a multitude of enchanting activities!

Meeting Santa Claus in Sherbrooke

Whether it’s simply to take a souvenir photo, whisper to him their dream gift, or shyly watch him from afar, your little ones will be thrilled to meet Santa Claus. This year again, he’ll be at Carrefour de l’Estrie and Marché de la Gare in Sherbrooke starting November 15.

On November 23, the Canadian Pacific Christmas Train will make a 30-minute stop on Rue de la Rand, behind the Marché de la Gare. Be there at 4:45 p.m. so as not to miss its illuminated cars.

On November 30, you’ll be able to see jolly Saint Nick during the Santa Claus Parade as it makes its way through the streets of Sherbrooke! The merry procession will get underway at 3:00 p.m. from École de la Montée, Pavillon Le Ber, and end its route with music and cheers in the city centre as the big Christmas tree is lit up. With its new decorations, downtown Sherbrooke will become THE place to be for all those in search of Christmas magic. You won’t want to miss it!

Add a Bit of Magic to Your Family Outings

Take advantage of the Holiday Season to organize some magical family outings.

On Saturdays and Sundays, from November 15 to December 21, the Marché de la Gare in Sherbrooke will become a genuine Christmas village! Over 60 exhibitors will be on hand to offer a multitude of local treasures: crafts, regional products, and countless ideas to decorate your festive tables or to give special gifts to your loved ones. You’ll be invited to rediscover your inner child as you head down the giant slide! Fire pits and a cozy piazza have been put in place to provide a space for you to relax for a while.

The Marché de la Gare will also offer special entertainment on 23 December, following the arrival of the Christmas Train. To celebrate the moment, the giant slide will be open until 6:30 p.m. Come enjoy a lively evening with dynamic performances by Labokracboom and a musical show to add an extra touch of festive atmosphere.

Heading Out on a Christmas Elves Hunt

From November 22 to January 5, carry out your investigation throughout Sherbrooke’s downtown area! Mischievous elves have hidden themselves inside the city’s boutiques and iconic spots. Along the way, they’ve left a trail of letters that will help you solve the big mystery word puzzle and give you the chance to win one of many prizes. Aspiring detectives, are you ready for adventure? The elf hunt is on! A touch of magic has been added to the Elf Hunt this year! The Murmures project invites you to listen carefully as magical tales come to life in some of the enchanting shop windows, courtesy of the Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke. For full details, visit the game’s website.

On the way, take a moment to relax at the winter plaza in the Carré Strathcona and browse through the boutiques in downtown Sherbrooke. You might find a few more gift ideas!

Finally, the Holiday Sherbus will invite you to hop on board to discover some of Sherbrooke’s hidden treasures. On December 6, the Sherbus will shuttle you from one Christmas market to the next so you can complete your Holiday shopping.
