Fête des vendanges

Since its first year of existence in 1993, the Fête des vendanges Magog-Orford has become, with over 75 000 visitors and 150 exhibitors each year, one of the most important tourist attractions of the Eastern Townships and the biggest gourmet site in Québec. The event is taking place September 3, 4, 5, 10 and 11, and represents the perfect occasion to discover and savour Quebec alcoholic and agro-food products. It’s also two weekends of music and pure fun in a festive atmosphere and an enchanting setting at the pointe Merry in Magog, next to the beautiful lake Memphrémagog.

There is something for everyone!

Beside the Tasting Fair, the festival offers to the visitors cooking workshops, varied music shows, activities for kids, grape crushing, bistros, a café and many contests.

For the 18th edition, great novelties have been added to the usual program. There will be enough to keep all the family members busy.

Downtown celebration!

Alive with a variety of performances, Magog’s Main Street in will be turned over to festival-goers between 4 and 9 p.m. on September 3, 4 and 10. Everybody should come and discover the unique tasting circuit which was put in place by businesses and local tourist attractions.

On those exact same dates, people will have the luxury to offer themselves one of the 13 tables d’hôte Vendanges made with selected local products. A unique opportunity to savour a dinner that has been especially made to pair with Québec wines. Guests will get the chance to talk with the winemaker that will be there.

A special closing event!

Everybody is invited to a big first: a Sunday Picnic by the lake Memphrémagog. Music, entertainment and draws are scheduled. Families and friends only have to make their lunch, come and have a seat at the giant table. It’s free!

A greener and greener event!

Since 2008, the Fête des vendanges has made many changes to soon become eco-friendly. The event being so big and the outstanding setting where it takes place encourage the organizing committee to do something for the environment. Of course, everyone’s help is appreciated and even required. In 2011, visitors are once again invited to bring their reusable bag. They will also be able to fill up their bottle with water for free.

For people who wish to be nicely surprised tasting very good local products, Magog is the place to be in September!
