What to do this week-end - November 10-11

Published on Nov 6, 2018

Among the activities on offer this weekend are works of art, a gourmet race, the first edition of the “Repair Café”, as well as a number of foodie experiences.

ARTborescence – an interesting art exhibition

Magog’s Centre d’Arts visuels (Visual Arts Centre) is currently hosting an event entitled ARTborescence, featuring the 20 or so artists who participate in the region’s annual studio tour. As well, at the International Museum of Naïve Art, which is in the same building as the Visual Arts Centre, visitors can view a collection of Haitian art - L’art haïtien, entre magie et seduction – which showcases the “magic and seduction” of the Caribbean island.

Wednesday-Sunday, from 1pm-5pm | ARTborescene runs until December 23 | L’art haitien, entre magie et séduction is on display until December 17

Join the microbreweries’ half marathon

Participate in one of the races during the last stage of the Gourmet Tour. You can choose between a 5, 10 or 21-km run and there’s a 1-km run for kids. Your efforts will be rewarded with a post-race party where you can sample regional food and beers made by local microbreweries!

Sunday, November 11 from 9am-12 noon in Bromont | Online registration until November 8

Learn how to repair those everyday objects

Whether it’s a favourite pair of old socks or a broken toaster, you can now bring your damaged goods to the “Repair Café” at the Museum of Ingenuity J. Armand Bombardier to be mended. Several “Mr. Fixits” will be on hand to teach you how to repair all kinds of everyday objects – books, clothing, small appliances, electronic gadgets and so on. Also on site will be a barista who is going to be whipping up specialty coffees.

Saturday, November 10, from 11am-4pm
