What to do this week-end - February 9-10

Watch snowmobile races. Explore the Danville region. Enjoy a leisurely lunch. Have fun with your kids in Magog – just some of the enjoyable things on offer this weekend.

The world’s biggest winter motorsports event!

Soak in the excitement of Valcourt’s Grand Prix Ski-Doo. The Yvon-Duhamel Crcuit comes alive with the roar of engines as professional drivers and amateurs pit their wits against one another through a variery of disciplines – snowmobile ice races, snocross, motorbikes and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). Racing fans will be able to chat to the drivers and ask for their autographs! There’s also a family area and in the evening, live entertainment and a DJ. It won’t be long before you start tapping your toes!

Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 9, from 10am – midnight.| Sunday February 10, from 08:30-6pm. General admission from $13.05.

Time for brunch

Sunday wouldn’t be Sunday without a hearty brunch! The following are some suggestions for places where you can linger over a delicious meal of gourmet delights….

Birdwatching around the Burbank Pond

Head for the Burbank Pond in Danvile and meander along the 4-km trail that encircles the water. A 290-metre long footbridge leads to a lookout tower, from which you’ll be able to spot several species of birds. Combine your walk with a stop at the Mante du Carré Marché public market. Stock up on food supplies and handcrafted goods or sit down for a meal at the Café-Resto de la Mante. The eatery offers an à la carte menu featuring market-fresh ingredients and home-baked pastries.
