What to do this weekend – September 20-22

To be sure the weather is getting cooler, but it’s not yet time to become a couch potato! This weekend, there are way too many things going on - fall festivals, live theatre, a fund-raising bike ride and most of all, fun!

A foodfest themed around ducks

This coming weekend, the village of Knowlton in the Town of Brome Lake, is hosting an outdoor foodfest – Canard & Gourmandises - themed around ducks and duck products. Some 40 food producers, artisans and merchants will be taking part. A cooking competition between chefs and live entertainment round out this lively event!

Who says no to a beer festival?

Le Festival des bières de Waterloo – the fourth edition of Waterloo’s beerfest – will be held again this Saturday at Parc du Centenaire (Centennial Park), in the heart of the village. The participants include a dozen microbreweries, a distillery and a meadery. Along with those tasty brews and beverages, visitors can enjoy the equally tasty local food products!

An outing to the theatre

A play entitled Les Fées ont soif (« The Fairies are Thirsty «) will be running at Sherbrooke University’s Cultural Centre until December 14. A Théâtre du Rideau Vert production, this piece, written by Denise Boucher, has not been performed in public for 40 years. The storyline features three women from very different backgrounds, who end up, through their conversation, agreeing on just how much females have been marginalised down the years – a theme that today, is more relevant than ever!

Until December 14, 2019 │ Centre culturel de l’Université de Sherbrooke
